Like all Juno Wells stories, I loved it. No, I did not receive an ARC for this review. I gladly bought and read ALL of her books, and a lot of other Sci-fi books, too. This one is no exception, BUY IT!This one starts out Abby finally giving up with her not so satisfying boyfriend. She manages a fast food place and takes a quick break out back glancing up in the sky and seeing a shooting star. She goes back inside and is informed by he staff that they are all set for the evening. Abby locks up, grabs her keys and purse and head out the back door. Her car is parked under a bright light in the parking lot, but she still feels like someone is watching her. Gives her the 'willies'. She quickly hops into her car and locks the doors. The feeling is still there. As she is driving, she STILL feels like she is being watched. She's looking around and BAM! She just hit someone at 40 MPH. She gets out and there is the huge gorgeous tall muscular man standing front of her. He asks if she is alright. Her? She just probably killed someone! His fragrance is intoxicating and he seems somewhat familiar. They kiss...yeah right there after 2 minutes.
She takes Vintares, 'Vin', back to her apartment. He walk-up apartment is on the 5th floor with the elevator not working , again. On her way to the store, she is so tired, so VERY tired, the sidewalk looks like an inviting place to lie down. Vin is suddenly there, carrying her. He says that the planet is not prepared. "He has found us, probably because you are the image of a woman I knew many years ago." With a bad bruise on his thigh, he tells her he needs protein to heal. They go to a fast food restaurant and he orders enough food for 5 people. Suddenly she is very tired again. After he demolishes his meal, Vin tells her they must escape as they have been 'found'.
Vin relates that 10,000 years ago, Earth was vastly more technologically advanced. After the war Earth was blasted back to primitive times. He has been in stasis during that time, watching and protecting Earth. Now, the enemy appears to have come back.
What an exciting story, with villains, and plenty of hot sex. Of course there is a HEA. The story left me with a huge SMILE!

I was given this book for an honest review. This was a different take on the Alien vs Human girl relationship. With Alien force watching over Earth as guardians/protectors who come out of stasis periodically to see if there services are needed, This latest awakening the enemy is encroaching on the Sol system territory. With the ancient Earth protection system not coming online automatically..it is essential to find the problem and correct it whether it is sabotage or just a systems failure. Vin locates his old love reincarnated in Abby with enough of her memories intact to prove invaluably helpful in the systems repair.
Strong feelings develop between Vin and Abby at an accelerated rate do to their previous lives together. Through all the commotion of saving the Earth and adversity of some of Vin's crew they still are able to develop a strong love for each other. Would be thrilled to read further in this story. Love Juno Wells writing...
This is a great standalone book that will definitely hold your your attention from beginning to the end of the book. This story is about soul mates who find themselves after ten thousand years of being apart (that is because one soul mate died). This book is chalked full of suspense, humor, mystery, drama, twists and turns, action, danger, memories, reincarnation, and loving.
Abby, who works in a dead end job, dreams of something more in her life. On her way to the bank to make the nightly deposit, she literally hits an alien with her car. Talk about reaching for the stars!!!!
Vintares "Vin" of the Lantarians is an alien alpha commander in charge of watching over Earth. He is a guardian/protector, who comes out of stasis every so many years to see if his and his crew services are needed. On his latest awakening finds an enemy coming into the solar system territory.
How did the enemy breach the protection system that was put on Earth? What happens when Vin finds the reincarnation of his old love? What are these memories Abby seems to be seeing about Vin? Will Vin and Abby figure out the problem with the protection system and their love for each other? If you like/love books about aliens, then this book is a must read. I received this book for an honest review. Can't wait for the next book to read.
I hate, really hate books written in the present tense. My mind continuously tries to convert it to the way the vast majority of books are written. I think I broke my brain with this one. I have over four thousand books on my fire and I can guarantee there won't be any more by Juno Wells. If only I had exercised the sample option.
Very well written. I can't wait to read more from this author. Wish of could have been a little longer.
A little thrilling, a few scares but definately a HEA ending.

These books just get better. Vintares an alien made a promise ten thousand years ago to the human woman he loved that he would protect Earth he has kept that promise! He has been in cryo-sleep but wakes up early, the enemy of Earth is back! Vintares goes to the surface to try and get the machinery that keeps Earth safe to work again, what he did not expect was to get hit by a car, and also to find a woman that looks like his lost love.
